15-year-old Racine Boy Shot in Mount Pleasant

Police pulled over a car for speeding and learned the victim was a passenger being transported to a nearby hospital.

MOUNT PLEASANT - A 15-year-old Racine boy was shot in the abdomen early Saturday morning and is in stable condition at a local hospital.

The Racine County Eye reports that the victim was found when his cousin was pulled over by Mount Pleasant police for speeding and driving erratically. The driver told police his cousin had been, at which point police called in rescue workers from the South Shore Fire Department.

The victim was transported to All Saints Ascension Hospital, where his wounds were determined to be non-life-threatening. He is currently listed in stable condition.

The shooting occurred in the 1400 block of Warwick Way in Mount Pleasant. No suspects are identified at this time and the victim's name is not being released since he is a juvenile.
