KENOSHA COUNTY, WI — A pickup truck struck a school bus Monday, sending four children to a local hospital, according to Kenosha County authorities.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. at Highways 50 and 83 in the Salem area, authorities said. The eastbound Chevrolet pickup struck a westbound bus turning south and carrying several students from Salem Grade School, according to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, which said the truck also hit a third vehicle stopped at a traffic light.

Four students were brought to the hospital as a precaution, authorities said.

The truck had moderate damage and was towed, while damage to the bus was minor, according to authorities, who said a second bus came to take most of the students to school.

The driver of the pickup, a 60-year-old man from Silver Lake, was cited for driving too fast for conditions, authorities said.
