48-Year-Old Man Dies In Motorcycle Accident: Sheriff

Sheriff's officials say first responders found Scott Bucko in critical condition, and tried saving his life at the scene of the crash.

RACINE COUNTY, WI — Authorities have identified the man who died in a motorcycle accident Saturday in Burlington.

According to the Racine County Sheriff's office, Scott J. Bucko, 48, was riding his motorcycle in the area of the Burlington Bypass near Highway 11 on the evening of May 16 when was involved in a crash.

Authorities say they arrived at the site of the crash just after 4 p.m. Saturday after a passerby noticed that Bucko had crashed his bike.

Sheriff's officials say first responders found Bucko in critical condition and tried life-saving measures at the scene. Authorities say Bucko was rushed to a local hospital and was flown by Flight For Life to a trauma center for advanced treatment. Authorities said he later succumbed to his injuries at the trauma center.

Witnesses of the crash said Bucko's speed on his bike, and an apparent lack of safety equipment were factors in the accident and the extent of his injuries, Racine County Sheriff's officials said Wednesday. Sheriff's officials said alcohol use may have factored into the crash.

"The Racine County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Scott for their loss," officials wrote Wednesday.
