5-Time Drunk Driver Went Airborne In Truck Crash, Sheriff Says
Sheriff's officials say the driver went 600 feet along a ditch before hitting a culvert and going airborne and landing in a man's front yard

RACINE COUNTY, WI — A Racine man drove drunk for the fifth time, and crashed his truck in the front yard of a Town of Raymond man's home late Wednesday night, sheriff's officials said. Authorities said the driver traveled several hundred feet through a ditch, and took his truck airborne before crashing in the man's yard.
According to sheriff's officials, the homeowner told deputies they heard a crash, and saw headlights out in their front yard before hearing a knock at the front door. The homeowner called the sheriff after they saw the crash, according to reports.
Racine County Sheriff’s Deputies say they arrived and saw a black 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 truck severely damaged in the front yard in the 8700 block of W. Seven Mile Road.

Deputies say the driver of the truck was 50-year-old Thomas J. Kosinski of Racine. When authorities investigated the crash, they reported learning that Kosinski’s truck left the road drove into the ditch line, traveled nearly 600 feet, hit a culvert, went airborne, careened through bushes and ended up in the man's front yard.
Sheriff's officials said Kosinski told deputies he was not injured in the crash. Sheriff's officials said Kosinski appeared intoxicated. He failed field sobriety tests, and was arrested on suspicion of his fifth drunken driving offense, sheriff's officials said.

He's being held in the Racine County Jail on a $5,000 bond, according to jail records. Kosinski was also issued traffic citations for operating left of center and unsafe lane deviation, sheriff's officials said of the incident.
