Aurora Docs Set to Stop Sending Patients to All Saints
A change in policy will change the way Aurora doctors choose where to send patients needing a hospital stay. Racine-area doctors will be looking to nearby Aurora hospitals instead of Racine's Wheaton Franciscan hospital.

A number of area Aurora doctors will soon stop sending patients needing hospitalization to Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints hospital, following a policy change.Â
The Journal Times reported on the shift, saying that seven Aurora doctors practicing in Racine area clinics will no longer "voluntarily" admit patients at All Saints. The patient could still choose to be admitted in Racine, but the doctors' policy would be to admit them to Aurora hospitals in Kenosha or Cudahy.Â
The seven doctors have about 11,000 patients combined, The Journal Times reported, and represent about 4 to 5 percent of All Saints admissions. The change is hoped to reduce the length of time patients have to wait to see their Aurora physicians, by allowing Aurora's own hospital-based doctors to care for the hospitalized patients instead of having the Aurora doctors visit patients at All Saints.Â
