Competency Evaluation Ordered For Sturtevant Man Accused In Altercation

Simon Cabrea Barrueta's attorney told the court that his client suffers from "disillusions," which prompted a Racine County Court Commissioner to order a competency hearing.

A Sturtevant man's competency has been called into question after he was accused of attacking his co-worker at a restaurant in Union Grove, according to a story in the Journal Times.

Simon Cabrea Barrueta, 45, was charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety, aggravated battery and misdemeanor disorderly conduct with a dangerous weapon. Julius Andriusis, Cabrea Barrueta's attorney, told Court Commissioner Alice Rudebusch on Thursday that his client suffers from "disillusions" and Rudebusch ordered a competency evaluation.

Cabrea Barreta allegedly had been drinking and held a knife to his co-workers throat on May 11 at the Union Grove Family Restaurant, 1400 15th Ave.
