MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — Construction has begun on new amenities at Mount Pleasant's Campus Park, the village announced Monday in a post on Facebook.

The construction is expected to last through fall, the village said, and while the pickleball courts will remain open, the playground will need to be closed. The project started in 2009. When the village's campus was moved to its current location, the green space was designated to become a park.

The park currently has pickleball courts and a playground. The new rounds of construction are set to bring more features including an art walk, trails, bathrooms, picnic shelters, a splash pad, a band shell, basketball courts, baseball diamonds, and more, according to the village's website.
