Croiss'OH'nut Debut a Delicious Success

The O&H Danish Bakery croiss"OH"nut had its debut Friday, and by early morning accounts, it promised to be successful.

Patch stopped by O&H at 4006 Durand Avenue Friday morning to find out how supply vs. demand was working out.

Marion Weiss was behind the counter, and she said customers were well-aware of the croiss"OH"nut and its two varieties; glazed or filled with buttercream.

"We've had people asking since last night if we were going to have them," she said.

Dan Smith, of Kenosha, has stopped at O&H almost every Friday of the 40 years he's worked in Racine. He ordered one of each.

"Well, really, you have to," he said.

We agree.

O&H Media Coordinator Sara Willing promised the croiss"OH"nut would melt in our mouth, and she was right. We sampled the buttercream variety, and it was decadently amazing; rich and light at the same time, with a fried crispiness and flaky-creamy inside.

Croiss"OH"nuts retail for $1.25 each and will be available every day in limited quantities at all four Racine-area O&H bakeries:

  • 1841 Douglas Ave., Racine
  • 4006 Durand Ave., Racine
  • I-94 & Highway 20 in the Petro Travel Plaza
  • 9540 South 27th Street, Oak Creek
