Dog And 2 Cats Lost Lives In Racine County Farmhouse Fire

The house was engulfed in flames by the time Racine sheriff's deputies arrived Thursday, the agency said. Three pets died in the fire.

RAYMOND, WI — One dog and two cats could not be saved when fire engulfed a farmhouse in Raymond Thursday, but nobody else was injured, the Racine County Sheriff's Office announced in a news release.

Sheriff's deputies found the home covered in flames in the 11700 block of West County Highway G after someone in the area reported black smoke in the area around 2:30 p.m.

The house was completely lost in the blaze, but nobody else was in the house during the fire, the sheriff's office said.

Officials said they have not yet determined the cause of the fire, but updates are expected. The blaze brought road closures to County Highway G for about two hours. Multiple agencies responded to the fire, the sheriff's office said.
