RACINE COUNTY, WI — The annual Empty Bowls Racine event, where people can get a unique handcrafted bowl in support of the fight against hunger, is scheduled to come to Milaeger's Great Lakes Farmers Market on Sunday, according to the organization's website.

The fundraiser, which still looks a little different than earlier years because of the pandemic, seeks to bring the community together to raise funds for the Racine County Food Bank and the Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization, Empty Bowls' website says.

Various local artists and organizations paint and donate the bowls to the program to be offered at the event. The in-person bowl exchange is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Milaeger's, located at 4838 Douglas Avenue.

The organization says on its website it has raised $340,000 for the community in its 25 years of running.
