Masks Might Soon Be Optional For Racine Unified School District
Racine Unified School District may soon announce plans to adjust to optional masking after Racine's mandate is expected to expire next week.
RACINE, WI — The Racine Unified School District could soon be repealing its mask mandate in schools.
An email circulated in the district said RUSD will be prepared to announce plans to move toward optional masking should the City of Racine Common Council move forward with repealing the city's mask mandate on Monday. An update from RUSD is expected to come next week.
The move comes after Racine Mayor Cory Anderson said he was ordering the city to stop enforcing mask mandates, according to a report by Journal Times.
