National Guard Called To Kenosha Following Jacob Blake Shooting

The National Guard has been called to Kenosha after leaders declared a state of emergency following a police shooting.

KENOSHA, WI — Hoping to stave off a second day of civil unrest in Kenosha, the National Guard has been deployed and will arrive in the city Monday afternoon.

According to a Kenosha News report, guard members will arrive in Kenosha at about 3 p.m. CDT.

A state of emergency was declared at 11 p.m. Sunday and a curfew was declared until 7 a.m. Monday.

The Kenosha County Courthouse remained closed and under heavy police guard during the day Monday as cleanup crews began their initial work cleaning up broken glass, smashed-out storefronts, and burned-out vehicles after a night of protests.
