KENOSHA, WI — New video has surfaced showing Jacob Blake engaged in a struggle with Kenosha police moments before a Kenosha police officer fired his gun seven times, striking Blake in the back on Sunday in a shooting that was captured on cellphone video.

The new video, which can be seen here, presents a second angle to Sunday's incident. The video footage, which is shaky and taken at ground level, shows officers struggle with Blake on the sidewalk near his SUV.

Footage shows Blake breaking free from that struggle and beginning to walk away from officers around the front of his SUV. The video footage shows a child standing nearby watching, and multiple women later standing feet from where the incident unfolded.

In the video, Blake is seen walking to the driver's side of his SUV with Kenosha officers following him with weapons drawn. Video footage then records the sounds of gunshots.

The officer who shot Blake has been identified by Wisconsin Department of Justice officials as Rusten Sheskey. The officers involved in the shooting, including Sheskey, are on administrative leave, police officials said.

The first witness video, which was taken from across the street in a second-story residence, is the one that has been seen across the U.S. and around the world.

In that video, police are seen following Blake around his SUV, grabbing him by the shirt, and opening fire on him several times as he enters his car while his children were apparently seated inside.

Blake survived the shooting. The video of Blake's shooting has gone viral, and Kenosha has seen widespread protests ever since.

Public officials of all kinds have weighed in on the shooting, some calling for immediate punishment for the officer who pulled the trigger, others for police and social reforms, and others who are calling for a playing-out of the police investigation into the shooting.

FBI To Conduct Investigation

Federal officials are launching their own investigation into the police shooting of Blake.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Justice announced they have opened an investigation into Blake's shooting, and that the FBI is leading their investigation.

Matthew D. Krueger, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and Eric S. Dreiband, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, confirmed that the federal investigation will run parallel to, and share information with, state authorities as local and federal laws allow.

"Federal authorities are committed to investigating this matter as thoroughly and efficiently as possible," Krueger and Deriband said in a joint statement. "Along with Attorney General Kaul and District Attorney Graveley, United States Attorney Krueger and Assistant Attorney General Dreiband urged all members of the community to allow the investigation processes to develop all available evidence before rendering judgment."
