Sheriff's deputies took hours to dismantle a car, eventually finding cocaine that tested positive for fentanyl, Racine authorites said.

RACINE, WI — Racine sheriff's deputies found almost 4½ pounds of cocaine, which also tested positive for fentanyl, in a car's hidden compartment after a traffic stop Tuesday evening on Interstate 94, the agency announced Friday.

A deputy pulled a 35-year-old Milwaukee man over just before 10 p.m. and backup used a K9 unit, Zeke, to do an open-air sniff around the man's vehicle, the sheriff's office said. The dog alerted for the presence of contraband, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies impounded the vehicle at a sheriff's substation and dismantled it. After several hours, authorites discovered an estimated $110,000 worth of cocaine from a hidden compartment in the vehicle, the sheriff's office said.
