Police: Death Investigation After Body Found in Garage
Mount Pleasant police are investigating the death of a woman after she was found in a closed garage with a car running.

Mount Pleasant police are investigating the death of a 59-year-old woman after her body was found in a closed garage with a car running.
According to a press release from MPPD, officers were called at 11:28 p.m. Thursday to the 3200 block of Wood Road to assist the South Shore Fire Department with reports of carbon monoxide alerts.
When police arrived, a resident of the building said their carbon monoxide alarm was issuing an alert. Officers checked all units for any signs of illness but found none. Still, they evacuated the building as a precaution. There were no reported injuries related to the evacuation.

During a search of the premises, safety personnel determined the carbon monoxide was coming from the garage of one of the units. Inside, they found the body of a 59-year-old woman.
Police and the Racine County Medical Examiner are investigating the woman's death. A cause of death has not yet been determined.
