RACINE, WI — A man from Racine has been arrested after someone spotted him shooting at ducks on the Root River, according to the Racine County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said the 32-year-old man admitted to shooting a duck, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is expected to issue a citation against him. The man was taken into custody on a probation hold and is at the Racine County Jail, the sheriff's office said in an update while thanking all who came forward with information.

The arrest comes after the Mount Pleasant police officers responded to the 3600 block of Rapids Court near the Root River Dam around 10 a.m. Sunday for a complaint of two people shooting ducks in the river with air rifles or BB guns, according to the sheriff's office.
