Rescue Mission Now A Recovery After Man Goes Missing On Kenosha Lake
Authorities will continue to search for a man who possibly drowned on Silver Lake on Thursday, the Kenosha Co. Sheriff's Department said.
SALEM LAKES, WI — The search for a man who was swimming in Silver Lake on Thursday is no longer a rescue mission and has been deemed a recovery, according to a news release from the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department.
The 22-year-old was swimming in Salem Lakes water with a five-year-old who is OK, the sheriff's department said. Authorites responded just after 12:30 p.m. to the report of a missing swimmer.
Preliminary reports showed the child, who was wearing a flotation device, and the man, who was not, jumped into the water from a boat on the lake, the news release said.
