Semi Truck Fire Causes I-94 Closure: Report

Traffic reports indicate that a lot of motorists are making use of frontage roads and surface streets to make their way past the congestion.

RACINE COUNTY, WI β€” A semi truck fire has I-94 traffic at a standstill in Racine and southern Milwaukee Counties Wednesday morning.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, a semi truck caught fire on I-94 near Highway G at just after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities have the northbound lanes of I-94 closed at Highway G north to about Oakwood Road as cleanup crews tend to the scene.

According to the Racine County Sheriff's Office, to avoid the fire, the alternative route will be I-94 to Highway G, take Highway G west to 27th Street, 27th North to Ryan Road, go east on Ryan road back to I-94.
