Train Strikes Semi Struck On Tracks In Kenosha County

No one was injured n the crash at the Salem Lakes crossing near the intersection of 104th Street and 268th Court.

SALEM LAKES, WI — A semitractor trailer unit was hit by a train this afternoon after it got stuck trying to cross railroad tracks near the intersection of 104th St. and 268th Ct.

According to WISN-TV, a train from the Canadian National Railway headed southbound struck the trailer of the semi, which was hauling a piece of construction equipment on a low-profile trailer when it got stuck on the grade crossing.

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department said the train was damaged and needs to be repaired before it can be moved, resulting in the extended closing of the railroad crossing on County Highway AH (Camp Lake Road), south of County Highway SA. Residents of the Sunset Oaks Subdivision can exit at 106th St. and 264th Ave. All other entrances are blocked by the train.

The department reported no injuries in the crash and no danger to area residents.
