For the first time, Sturtevant's fireworks were timed to music.
Despite the sudden fog, the sky lit up with color and plenty of oohs and aahs from those gathered close.
Unfortunately, the fog obscured the show for anyone not on the grounds of the park. On Facebook, fireworks fans both complained about the poor visuals and defended the decision to go forward with the show.
Billy Joyce wasn't shy, posting that the fireworks should have been delayed.
"Are (they) kidding why didnt they wait until saturday when we could maybe see some what a bunch of clowns what a waste alot of people donated money towards the show shame on them."
Judith Lamar defended the fireworks committee putting on the show:
"Couldn't see a thing from Rayne Rd. Sturtevant didn't create the fog. People would have been mad if they had gotten cancelled at the last minute. No perfect solution."
