Unemployment Up in Mount Pleasant and Throughout Racine County
The number of people considered unemployed rose throughout Racine County, including in Mount Pleasant.

Unemployment numbers went up in Mount Pleasant over the course of the last year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
Separate figures for Sturtevant are not available on the DWD's website.
The jobless rate in Mount Pleasant went up to 10 percent in February compared to 9.5 percent a year ago, in Feb. 2012.

The same story is repeated throughout Racine County; the unemployment rate rose to 10.2 percent in Feb. 2013 from 9.5 percent in Feb. 2012.
In the City of Racine, jobless numbers rose from 12.5 percent to 13.4 percent, just a smidge more than Beloit. Numbers there sit at 13.3 percent compared to 12.5 percent last year.
