RACINE COUNTY, WI — Three Green Bay Packer players were handcuffed and placed in the back of a Racine County Sheriff's squad car this week after a deputy pulled over the vehicle they were driving.
According to the Racine County Sheriff's office, Packers linebacker Za'Darius Smith was pulled over on Sept. 29 on I-94 near the Highway 20 on-ramp for an apparent speeding violation.
Authorities say a deputy wrote up a traffic ticket for speeding on the freeway between 20 to 24 miles per hour. However, when deputies were conducting the traffic stop, they smelled marijuana. Authorities said Smith was traveling with teammates Kinglsey Keke and Rashan Gary.
