A significant Racine tradition continues this month at Racine Art Museum's (RAM's) Wustum Museum of Fine Arts. Opening August 31, Wisconsin Photography 2022 features work by 81 Wisconsin photographers and video artists. This year's edition of the biennial exhibition will be on view at RAM's Wustum Museum through November 26, 2022.

The juried exhibition received online submissions from all over the state. Out of over 800 pieces submitted to this year's show, only 113 were accepted. Renowned Los Angeles-based photographer and videographer John Simmons, ASC, selected the works on display in Wisconsin Photography 2022.

The Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony for Wisconsin Photography 2022 will be held at RAM's Wustum Museum, 2519 Northwestern Avenue in Racine, on Sunday, August 28, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Depending on the state of the COVID-19 pandemic at the time, this free public reception may have to be canceled. If this occurs, the change will be noted on the RAM website, ramart.org, and via the museum's social media channels.

The two campuses of the Racine Art Museumβ€”RAM in downtown Racine at 441 Main Street and the Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Arts at 2519 Northwestern Avenueβ€”are located in Racine, Wisconsin, a historic community on the shores of Lake Michigan. RAM is home to the largest contemporary craft collection in North America, and has a reputation for its award-winning architecture and nationally recognized exhibition program. RAM's Wustum Museum of Fine Arts is home to the organization's diverse, award-winning art education programs and has presented significant art exhibitions since the 1940s.

Both campuses of the Racine Art Museum are currently operating with limited hours, open Wednesday through Saturday from Noon to 4:00 pm. Both museums encourage all visitors and staff who are not fully vaccinated, and those who feel more comfortable wearing a mask, to continue doing so in public areas at RAM and RAM's Wustum Museum of Fine Arts. Some in-person art classes and workshops at Wustum still require masks, determined on a case-by-case basis.
