Community Corner
A Break From the Routine
For a week, I'm out and about meeting with you in what I've dubbed "Operation Outreach"...how can we help you?

Truthfully, meetings are not my cup of tea, but I know we've had quite a few of them in recent weeks, and for a change I'm not the only person sitting in the audience.
So when I learned I along with my colleagues were taking a mandatory week off from meetings in order to refocus on our communities in a different way, I had mixed feelings. Beginning Monday, I will be seeking out businesses and organizations that perhaps I haven't had the chance to reach face to face, one on one, because of those aforementioned meetings. It is hands down the best part of my job to connect with you.
So, I start with a nearly blank 'dance card,' as some of you have already taken the initiative. I ask that if you're interested in blogging, claiming a business listing (if of course you are the business owner) or adding a listing if you're brand new, or would like to learn how to use the site to your full advantage, contact me to get together.

While I won't be able to break a story from the Tuesday night common council meeting (if there's anything to be broken), rest assured I can and will be following up on Wednesday.
And speaking of Wednesday, I am posting 'office hours' at , with their gracious permission. I work just about anywhere a laptop can rest, and would love to have you come in, enjoy a sandwich and find out more about you, your organization and of course answer questions. I will be there from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and I hope you can make it.

By now, most of you have come to realize Patch is different, taking journalism to its readers. It's no longer enough for people to read the news in a one-way format; they want to be heard as they react to it, and also as they have questions on what's posted, get answers. This is why you will see me pop into the comment stream. It lets you know I'm reading what you have to say, and also gives my opinion on occasion, as I feel you have a right to know that.
So next week is not so much a week 'off' as it is a week 'in' tune and (here comes that word again) engaged. I look forward to seeing you in Muskego, and not just online.
