This past weekend the Heavy metal band "Until the End" visited San Laurio coffehouse for a rather toned down and impressive acoustic show. Nearly packing the house and keeping Marie's baristas busy, the five member band played over an hour and half of melodic, easy listening and fun music.    Â
The set list consisted of music from Collective Soul, Natalie Grant, Alterbridge, Flyleaf, and more. Alyssa Voit, the lead singer for "Until The End", known for her heavy metal scream, lead her band with a soft and soothing voice that welcomed the audience into her element. Alyssa has a voice and stylings very much similar to that of Lacey Nicole "Moesly" Strum of Flyleaf says singer/guitarist/manager Jay Lewis. The drummer Justin Latewic played both acoustic guitar and a "cajón" ( a precussion instrument resembling a wood box). Justin's brother Eric played acoustic bass. While acoustic lead guitar Nick Novak played 6 string, Jay had some fun during their acoustic rendition of "Monster" by Skillet letting the audience see the fun and playful side of the band.    Â
"Until the End" has been together since the beginning of 2011 from Atonement Lutheran Church out of Muskego. They love the fact that they play music that is on the edge of society's version of what Christian music is supposed to sound like. Until The End is influenced by and emulates relevant bands like Skillet, Flyleaf, and Fireflight.
