OLD WORLD WISCONSIN EMPLOYMENT OPEN HOUSE TO BE HELD

SATURDAY, MARCH 3, 10 A.M. – 2 P.M.

Eagle, Wis. – In preparation for the 2012 operating season, Old World Wisconsin will host a job/volunteer open house on Saturday, March 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Clausing Barn Restaurant.  This is a first-time event for this premier outdoor living history museum.  It is an opportunity for potential applicants to learn more about the site, including specifics regarding open positions.

The museum’s management seeks enthusiastic applicants to fill seasonal roles, including:

  • Period-clad interpreters: Share information with guests, demonstrating the work and craft of 19TH-century immigrants.
  • Day camp counselors: Work a shortened season with our popular children's day camp, exploring the whole site and sharing historic activities with children ages 6-17.
  • Tram drivers:  An important element of the visitor experience, sharing information about the site while transporting guests between farmsteads.
  • Museum store:   Retail sales and guest assistance.
  • Ticket sales:  Sales and front-line guest assistance.
  • Maintenance:  Grounds keeping, event setup, building maintenance.
  • Volunteer assistance:  Greeters, receptionists, sewers, gardeners, interpreters, in the marketing area, or with the volunteer program itself on a limited, but regular basis.
