Seniors Garner $11.6 Million in College Scholarship Awards at Catholic Memorial High School
$11.6 million in academic scholarships from U.S. colleges and universities was awarded to the 2012 graduating class of Catholic Memorial High School. Of the 196 receiving diplomas at commencement on Sunday, May 27, 2012, in the InPro Athletic Center on the Catholic Memorial High School campus, over 96 percent will attend colleges and universities. Others will be pursuing military service, entering the workforce, or are undecided.
Fifty-seven percent of the graduates will attend college in Wisconsin, including:
- Sixteen enrolled at UW Madison.
- Seventeen to Marquette University.
- Fifty-three to UWM and other UW System schools.
- Nine to Waukesha County institutions including six to Carroll University.
CMH graduates are also heading to other highly selective institutions including Pepperdine, Valparaiso, Loyola University - Chicago, and University of Notre Dame.

More than 18 percent will attend Catholic colleges and universities including Marquette, DePaul, Seton Hall, and St. Louis University.

The following students are representative of over 100 who received awards from a diverse group of civic, religious and professional organizations for academic achievement, leadership and service:
Valedictorian Alyssa Vanchena of St. Luke in Brookfield, will attend UW-Madison.
Salutatorian Melanie Kohls of St. Mary in Hales Corners will attend UW-Madison.
First Honors Alexandria Staskiewicz of Butler Middle School will attend St. Norbert College.
Second Honors William “Teddy” Delforge of St. Dominic in Brookfield, will attend DePaul University and Alesia Staskiewicz of Butler Middle School will attend St. Norbert College.
