Are Your Kids' Car Seats are Installed Properly?
Car seat safety clinic will be held at Tess Corners Fire Station on March 13 - make sure you're using your kids car seats correctly to prevent a tragedy in the event of an accident.
Tess Corners Fire Department is teaming up with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and SafeKids, Wisconsin to bring you safety checks for your children’s car and booster seats. Wisconsin law requires that children under eight years of age be restrained in a car seat or booster seat, depending on the child’s age and weight.
According to statistics, thousands of children are saved from serious injury or death each year because they are properly restrained in a child seat. Unfortunately, many other children suffer injuries while secured in their car seats because the seats themselves are not properly secured in the vehicle.
From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, parents can receive instruction on how to properly install their child’s car seat from certified volunteer child passenger safety technicians. This service is free, and a limited number of low cost car seats will be available for purchase.
