Big Bend Man Identified As Victim of Fatal I-894 Crash
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said Benjamin J. Jones was driving a pickup truck when he rear-ended a semi track-trailer on I-894 Monday morning.
A 38-year-old Big Bend man has been identified as the victim in a fatal crash Monday morning that shutdown I-894 southbound for several hours.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said Benjamin J. Jones was driving a pickup truck when he rear-ended a semi track-trailer around 7 a.m. on the interstate near Beloit Road.
The truck became wedged under the semi, and emergency personnel began treating Jones while he was trapped in his vehicle, but he eventually passed away from his injuries.
The Milwaukee County medical examiner pronounced him dead at 10:30 a.m.
The accident shutdown I-894 southbound for several hours Monday morning, until just before noon when the interstate re-opened.
A crash investigation is still ongoing, authorities say.
