A robbery attempt in the Park Estates subdivision Monday morning was foiled by a call to 911 and a well-placed wooden block.Â
Police confirmed there was an attempted burglary to one residence in which no one was hurt. Two suspects, a 34-year-old West Allis man and a 22-year-old Milwaukee woman, were apprehended by police. So far there have been no ties to the neighborhood established and police do not know why the home was targeted.

Apparently, the homeowners placed a wooden block inside, which kept the patio door from opening, and the suspects never made entry to the residence.Â
Weekly police reports feature similar stories of break-ins to residences and cars, and police said this recent incident is a good example of what a little preventative measures can do.

In addition, police ask residents to close and lock their garage doors every night and to lock their cars. Most often, items are taken from unlocked vehicles in their driveways, making them a perfect target.
