began its final phase as a second lift of asphalt was laid, often bringing traffic to a standstill along the one-and-a-half mile route on Tuesday. The project started in April of 2011 and completed its first phase in early November; work should be completed by the end of the week.

also continued, often drawing remarks from residents at just how deep the excavation of the road is. At points along the route between Lannon Drive and Moorland Road, a 12-foot drop off has been dug to accommodate the laying of new stormwater and sewer lines and culverts.

'Veteran' business closed late last week, and many readers contacted us to inquire what happened.
