Construction on Janesville Puts Focus on Speed

County project will require patience and a little lighter foot for motorists.

If the electronic speed sign in front of Muskego Elementary School isn't enough, perhaps the home made signs will (pardon the pun) drive the point home: slow down.

As the debut of heavy construction along Janesville Road from Moorland Road to Lannon Drive looms, Waukesha County and the Muskego Police Department are alerting motorists that it's indeed a construction zone. Therefore, the normal speed limit of 35 miles per hour will become 25 mph.

"It is our position and goal to gain speed compliance - not write citations," said Capt. John LaTour of MPD. "We would like to have a safe summer of construction for both our drivers and the construction workers."
