Crime Corner: Some Can't Wait to Burn

If folks would've waited just a little longer for the rain, they wouldn't have gotten a visit from the police.

The city-wide burn ban is lifted as of July 25, but for some, it didn't come soon enough. Here's this week's Muskego Neighborhood Watch:

Friday, July 20 –

  • Wal-Mart reported a retail theft of electronics taking place over several days.
  • A resident burning brush in the W12900 block of Longfellow Lane was advised of the burning ban in effect.
  • A 20 year old West Allis woman, as well as a 19 year old Milwaukee woman, were arrested for shoplifting at Kohl’s Department Store. The West Allis woman also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest.

Saturday, July 21 –

  • An 18 year old Waukesha man was arrested for drunk driving in the area of Racine Ave. and Gemini Dr. Two 18 year old Waukesha women and an 18 year old Waukesha man who were passengers in the car were also cited for underage drinking.
  • A homeowner in the S8100 block of Lannon Dr. reported having items thrown in their pool.
  • A homeowner in the W20300 block of Hillendale Dr. having a bon fire was advised of the burning ban.
  • Several people were advised regarding setting up a race course for jet skis on Little Muskego Lake.
  • Landscape blocks were damaged at Muskego Apostolic Tabernacle on Janesville Rd. at Hillendale Dr.

Sunday, July 22 –

  • A 33 year old Muskego man was arrested for drunk driving in the area of Southern Dr. and Martin Dr.
  • A homeowner in the W13000 block of Bristlecone Lane was advised of the burning ban in the city.
  • Several vehicles were cited for parking on the grass at Park Arthur.
  • A homeowner in the S8900 block of Clearbrook Dr. was advised of the burning ban in the city.

Monday, July 23 –

  • A 53 year old Muskego man was arrested for drunk driving in the S7900 Lannon Dr.
  • BBQ sauce was placed on a car in the S7800 block of Wood Berry Lane.
  • Wal-Mart reported a retail theft over the weekend. The theft may be related to several other thefts from Wal-Marts in the area. Suspects have been identified.
  • A homeowner in the S10500 block of North Shore Dr. reported minor acts of vandalism to their property.
  • A homeowner in the S7700 block of Gaffney Dr. reported someone damaged and stole property while trying to gain access to their pool.

Tuesday, July 24 -

  • A homeowner in the S8300 block of Clearbrook Dr. reported hearing a loud noise and seeing debris from plastic bottles outside their residence.
  • A homeowner in the W16500 block of Vine St. was advised of the burning ban in the city.
