Drug Collection Drive Announced for End of September
Muskego Police will join with the Drug Enforcement Administration at the Walgreen's on the corner of Janesville Road and Racine Avenue to collect old and unused medications.
Considering the success of the , it's likely that the second one of the year will prove to be just as popular.
The Muskego Police Department will be on hand to assist on Saturday, Sept. 29, as the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will sponsor the National Take Back Initiative. on the corner of Janesville Road and Racine Avenue, will be coordinating and hosting Muskego’s participation in this event.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., bring your expired, unused and unwanted prescription, controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter medications to Walgreen’s. It will be collected under the supervision of police officers, and turned over to the DEA. Liquid medications will be accepted as long as they are in their original packaging.

What won't be accepted at this drive: inhalers and “sharps,” including syringes, epi pens, etc.
The April drive netted about 500 pounds of pills and other medications at the Muskego Police Department, but it's not just about convenience.

"Remember, every pill turned in and disposed of is one less pill we have to worry about making its way to our children," said Lt. David Constantineau.
