Editor's Notebook: A Few Loose Ends On Muskego Lake Development
Information and detail is requested on the lake park development; what's ahead; feedback from you...etc, etc.

There's been a lot happening over the weekend, so I just wanted to pass along a few points to keep up:
Aldermen: We have seven of them, and I've heard from a few of them that they're staying busy with your phone calls and emails. If you have not had success in hearing back from your district's alderman, you are encouraged to speak to any of them. I would also encourage that however you fall on the issue to talk with an alderman that voted contrary to your opinion. I don't get the impression from any of them that their vote was an easy one, and it may provide some insight talking one on one to hear what brought them to their decision. Their contact information is on the city's website.
There's plenty of assumption going on. I don't believe in conspiracy theories for the most part, and I also don't believe this is solely a class issue.

On deck: I'm working on a few stories into next week, and hope in part to talk with outside sources on the 'what-happens-next.' If petition organizers are correct, and enough signatures are gathered, can a referendum be forced? And if so, will that referendum be binding? How much would it cost? Etc., etc....
For the most part, the discussion in the comments has been respectful and compelling, and has been far better than most Governor Walker commentary. That's good for all of us, and it says a lot about us as a community.

Letters: Anyone is welcome to submit a letter to the editor, however we will not post them without a full name. So far, we've been receiving about one every day, which allows the full text to be published, but should that amount rise, I will likely select a paragraph or two from the original submission, and try not to change the context of the message or main point.
In addition, where news is made, I will publish it, but will try to keep the content volume sane. Too much of any issue will make anyone crazy.
New tab under News: We've logged about 50 postings, including articles, letters to the editor, and editor's corners. That's a lot to keep track of, so under the News tab at the top of the page is a selection called 'Little Muskego Lake Development.' It's a topic page solely for this issue. Hopefully it allows you to find items you would like to comment on or reread.
