Final Seconds Fabulous: Muskego Sneaks a Win From Kettle Moraine

Trailing nearly all of the game, Muskego comes from behind against Kettle Moraine to win on homecoming night, and keep playoff hopes alive.

Despite being on the short end of the scoring for much of the night, the Muskego Warriors weren't about to give up a homecoming game to the Kettle Moraine Lasers.

A 42-yard TD run by Kettle Moraine about 2 1/2  minutes into the first quarter put the Lasers ahead 7-0 and Muskego responded but missed the extra point to trail by one. Another 32-yard run (extra point missed) and field goal on ensuing possessions by Kettle Moraine would pad their lead to 16-6 by halftime.

However, it would be Muskego's turn at the scoreboard in the second half, and two goal-line pushes into the endzone would give the Warriors their first lead of the night of 22-16 with only 18 seconds left in the game.

Muskego's 295 yards of offense were typically taken up in the ground game, with 201 yards rushing and 94 yards passing. David Kucharski would rack up 96 yards rushing and two touchdowns, with Tyler Thomka adding 67 yards to the total. Quarterback Peter Roy would also score Friday night, crossing the goal line for Muskego's first score.

The win was a welcome part of Homecoming festivities, but also because Muskego needs to win its final games in order to qualify for post season play. They will travel to Waukesha to face their final opponent at Waukesha South on Friday, Oct. 12.
