Finding A Little 'Hope in Hard Times' in Muskego
New series puts some numbers to what many already are experiencing, and we invite you to share your story.

I am a glass is half full type of person. I've gone through extended unemployment and the frustration of having a college degree, some talent and a great work ethic without hearing back from employers, but I've never caved in to despair.
The plentiful discussion after the defeat of the school referendum was amazing, and I thank everyone for sharing their concerns, and really it's what helps us plan what stories we should be covering. While this upcoming series was already in the works, the concern of many worried about what's coming underscored the focus of our look at how the struggling economy is affecting the coveted suburbs, of which we are one.
The numbers are surprising when seen in black and white, but we wanted to include a little hope (and I do believe that's a term that has gotten way overused, but there it is) in that there are success stories to be told.

While we put some numbers on the table, we'd also like to invite you to tell your story - whether of struggle or success - to bring a face to the subject as well. I understand it's not easy to talk about a less than ideal situation, so all names are kept confidential unless you tell us otherwise. Likewise, if you've gone through tough times, persevered and prospered, share your story with us as well.
One of the busiest places in Muskego is its Food Pantry, which as of five or so years ago didn't exist. However, I see businesses that continue to do well, and we're looking forward to talking with them as well.

This week's 'first installment' looks at the home market, with other stories to focus on the numbers involved at the food pantry, as well as small businesses that have somehow figured it out and remain successful in Muskego. You may have other leads for us, so please share them! This is our story, so we're hoping you will all help us tell it.
