Fireworks, Rowdy Women and Cars Racing on the Ice: Must be a Full Moon

The Muskego Police Department had its share of odd incidents in the past couple of weeks, as the blotter and a full moon on Feb. 25 explains.

A glance at the list of incidents from the past two weeks on the Muskego Police Department blotter may raise a few eyebrows, until you figure sometimes the moon does crazy things to people. 

Two women got into trouble after separate fights on opposite ends of the city. On Wednesday, Feb. 20, around 9 p.m., Muskego police officers were called to assist New Berlin officers in taking a 43-year-old Muskego woman into custody in the S7600 block of Lannon Drive, for a fight in their city. 

One week later on Feb. 27, a 41-year-old Hales Corners woman was arrested and charged with battery after being involved in a fight at Denoon Saloon. She has been barred from returning to the establishment.

The men weren't on their best behavior, either, or operating under the impression it was July.

Two men were caught violating city's ordinance on fireworks in separate incidents in Muskego. On Saturday, Feb. 23, around 6 p.m., neighbors complained of fireworks in the S10900 block of Racine Avenue. Police responded to the area and located a 33-year-old Milwaukee man, who was advised of the city ordinance and the complaint.

About four hours later, another complaint of fireworks and loud music in the S8400 block of Holz Drive led police to speak to a 50-year-old Muskego man. He was also advised of the city ordinance and the complaint. 

In addition, three young men aged 17-18 caught the attention of police after neighbors along Little Muskego Lake noted the men were racing on the ice with their vehicles.

Saturday, Feb. 16 – A 23-year-old New Berlin man was arrested for drunk driving in the area of Janesville Road and Moorland Road. 

Sunday, Feb. 17 –

A 22-year-old Burlington man was arrested for his second drunk driving offense, as well as operating after revocation (drunk driving related) on Moorland Road in front of Walmart. His passengers, a 20-year-old Burlington woman and a 19-year-old Waterford woman, were cited for underage drinking as well. 

A 28-year-old Muskego man was arrested for drunk driving on Pioneer Drive at Racine Avenue. 

Monday, Feb. 18 – A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for his second drunk driving offense and operating after revocation after getting into an accident in the parking lot of Pick N Save. 

Tuesday, Feb. 19 – A 60-year-old Muskego woman was cited for hit and run after striking a car with her truck in the parking lot at Walmart and leaving the scene. 

Wednesday, Feb. 20 –

A 46-year-old Waterford man was arrested for his fourth drunk driving offense, as well as operating after revocation (drunk driving related) and violation of ignition interlock device. The arrest occurred in the area of Highway 36 and Muskego Dam Road. 

Residents in the S7800 block of Overlook Bay Road reported a burglary to the residence. 

Thursday, Feb. 21 –

A 40-year-old Muskego man was arrested for drunk driving in the W18600 block of Martin Drive after he struck an apartment building in the area with his vehicle. 

A 50-year-old Greenfield man was arrested for operating after revocation (drunk driving related) and bail jumping after a traffic stop on North Cape Drive at Boxhorn Dr. 

Friday, Feb. 22 – officers and Tess Corners Fire personnel responded to a car fire on Highway 36 at Muskego Dam Road. 

Saturday, Feb. 23 –

A 43-year-old Oak Creek woman was arrested for her third drunk driving offense on Janesville Road at Kipling Drive. 

A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting at Kohl’s Department Store. 

A complaint of excessively loud music in the S7500 block of Kingston Drive was received. A 38 year old Muskego man was advised of the complaint and turned down the music.  

Sunday, Feb. 24 – A 34-year-old Muskego woman was cited with operating after revocation (drunk driving related) after a traffic stop in the area of Racine Avenue and Janesville Road. 

Wednesday, Feb. 27 –

Kohl’s Department Store reported a shoplifter who fled the store prior to officers arrival. A suspect has been identified, and officers continue to investigate.
