Goodwill Gets a Good Welcome
Ribbon cutting officially welcomes donation facility to Muskego, reflecting strong community support for rehabilitative organization.
Goodwill Industries made Muskego a more permanent home in moving its donation acceptance facility from a temporary trailer to a storefront in the Pick n Save Mall along Janesville Road. The Muskego Chamber of Commerce made it an official welcome with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday afternoon.
For avid seekers of good bargains on clothes and household items, it begged the question, "does a more permanent collection site mean a retail store isn't far behind?"

"With our collection trailer in Muskego we have seen a strong enough and consistent community response to make this move to such a facility," she told Muskego Patch. "We will continue to seek where there is that need to expand, and in the meantime we're able to provide a better work environment for our employees."
In welcoming the new facility, chamber president Gerald Boisits said Goodwill "provides a wonderful service to the community in taking unwanted but usable items and in turn using them to benefit and make profitable its employees."

Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti explained that her daughter, who worked for Goodwill, got to see firsthand the support that the organization brought to a community as well as the employees it supports.
"Goodwill supports additional programs as well with its stores, and there are approximately 47,000 individuals within this service territory. It's one of three new models and with the construction of Janesville Road, the move from the trailer to this site was perfect timing," Chiaverotti said.
The facility is open for donations seven days a week, including Monday - Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
