If You Give a Child a Moose

A warm stuffy sometimes is the best way to help kids through a traumatic situation, and the Muskego Moose are helping the Police Department spread a little comfort

The number of reports of domestic disturbances and other traumatic situations that involve children may surprise most residents in Muskego, but police are all too aware of the need to tend to youngsters when they arrive on a call.

"We run into so many young people who are having a hard time, and sometimes it's these little comforts that mean everything," said Officer Gary Mrotek.

'These little comforts' came in the presentation of three dozen 'Tommy Moose' from the Muskego Moose Lodge. The stuffed animals will ride along with officers in their squads to use in cases where kids are involved in traumatic situations, like domestic violence, fire, or car accidents.
