It's March — Can You Still Get Snow Shovels in Muskego?
Apparently Mother Nature is using a different playbook this year, keeping the snowfall for the bitter end of winter; with retailers planning ahead for spring, is there any inventory left to get rid of snow?
"It's a little crazy — I've got patio equipment waiting to display, but there's no room on the floor yet for it," said Mike Caplinger, manager of Elliott Ace Hardware in Muskego.
Amidst the snowblowers, shovels, scrapers and salt he's keeping in stock as it keeps on snowing, are racks of fertilizer, ant killer and other garden implements. Call it a clash of two very different worlds.

"Last year was awesome, it was the warmest March on record," Caplinger said. That allowed for the winter inventory to be shipped out and usher in the new season, just like the calendar showed.

However, customers wondering if they'll have to shovel their driveway in the wake of a broken snowblower, or use garden shovels if their snow shovel finally busted, will be pleased to know the hardware store still has replacements. Plenty of them.
Because it seems winter isn't done with us — yet.
