Little Muskego Lake District Looks to Smooth the Waters
Complaints over weed harvester operators went too far, says district board, which hopes to work with lake residents

Weed harvesters got a little too close for comfort for one lake resident, who verbally threatened operators earlier this year for damage to her pontoon boat and pier.
"We work under the expectations that accidents will happen, but we're here to fix them as best we can," said board member Brian Volkman on Thursday night during the Little Muskego Lake District meeting.
The homeowner's pier had sustained damage two years ago when a harvester collided with it. She is maintaining that recent damage to her pontoon boat is also the result of contact with the harvester, but the LMLD has said absent any real evidence, they will not reimburse her. The district's insurance company is also denying the claim.

The LMLD has instructed its staff to avoid the property since the incident, but doesn't want to burn any bridges, either.
"We need to provide the best service to all of our lake residents," said member Tom Rech, "but we need to work together."
