Man Picks Up Last Paycheck ... and Employer's Credit Card, Say Police

Faced with being laid off, a Milwaukee man decides to go out and live it up a little on his Muskego employer's dime, according to reports

A good steak dinner and a full tank of gas may not have been worth it after all, if a Milwaukee man charged with identity theft of his employer's credit card is convicted.

According to the criminal complaint, Steven Siever was at the Muskego home of his employer to pick up his last paycheck on Nov. 10, 2012. The employer was out of town, but left instructions of where to find the check.

The employer contacted Muskego police in December when he saw unauthorized transactions on his credit card from that same date. Reports state the card was used at a Walgreen's for $21.61, Exxon Mobil for $63, at the Milwaukee Steak House for $200 and at Shell for $48.60.

He told police he suspected Siever, who later admitted to using the card at Walgreen's and the restaurant, but said he intentionally dropped the card at one point and did not use it for the additional gas purchases.

Siever could face a maximum penalty of $10,000 in fines, six years in prison or both.
