Meeting Preview: 2012 City Of Muskego Budget Public Hearing

Mayor's budget features a 0 percent tax levy increase, and Monday's meeting is the public's chance to weigh in on the numbers.

While it's not the most widely attended meeting, it is the only meeting where the public can come forward and voice their opinions and concerns over the proposed 2012 budget.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, a public hearing regarding the Mayor's 2012 budget will be held.  The budget features the following:

  • A zero-percent tax levy increase.  Proposed tax revenue of $9,796,572 from 2011 therefore matches the proposed revenue for the 2012 year
  • While many of the totals across anticipated expenses are modest increases or savings from the previous year, the anticipated savings from building inspection services is about 37.5 percent, reflecting the reduction of two inspector positions for outsourcing

View the entire budget worksheet, which offers a department-by-department breakdown of expenses.  See anything you'd like to question or comment on, stop in to the Muskego Room in the lower level of City Hall Monday night.
