Meeting Preview: Common Council Meets Again At Different Venue

Lake Denoon Middle School hosts government meeting, where lake park issues are again expected to bring out high attendance.

The Common Council will convene at 7pm in the cafeteria of Lake Denoon Middle School, with the big item involving a possible reconsideration of the resolution to purchase lake property for park land on Little Muskego Lake. This resolution passed at the Jan. 24 meeting, however there are also other items of note that will also be part of the agenda:

  • Eagle Scout Aleks Vilumsons will be honored by the city for his project that made improvements to the ground level meeting and exhibit rooms of the Old Town Hall by building frames and hanging historical photographs
  • Public comment will likely center around the potential reconsideration of the the offer to purchase (resolution 003-2012), however it could be interesting to see if there is a request to hold off on this until after that discussion item is brought to the floor.
  • Should discussion put the offer to purchase of the Dilworth Lake Park Properties back in play, there will be another vote on it.
  • A resolution to amend the procedure regarding public comment during Common Council Meetings had been on the Jan. 24 council agenda as well, where the item was amended to strike out the 30 minute time limit for public comment, and then deferred.
  • With the start of planning for Pioneer Drive reconstruction, a water main will be installed in the northern section of the route. A preliminary resolution which will allow for the levy of a special assessment of the properties with frontage along this area will be discussed.
