Meeting Preview: Muskego CDA Will Review Requests for Janesville Road Grants
As construction nears, additional requests from Bay Breeze and Jill's will be discussed; implementation of redevelopment districts also on the docket Tuesday night.

The Community Development Authority will meet Tuesday at 6pm in . This is a group that points to areas of the city that could use revitalization and offer help to businesses to renovate. For some, the CDA helps a city map out its future, and while not the most attended meeting in Muskego, it often provides the answer that many citizens ask: What is the city doing to retain and attract businesses?
As Janesville Road will remain at the forefront of development, two requests for grant funds to update are being discussed. Jill's Cleaners, on Parkland Drive just north of Janesville and Bay Breeze Condominium will be considered for commercial grant program dollars, with Bay Breeze remaining a 'gray area' for the CDA.
Generally, businesses receive these grants, but previous discussion on Bay Breeze has asked whether it's a business or a residential entity.

The implementation of three business districts around the city are also on the agenda: Tess Corners Drive, Janesville Road and the Muskego Business Park. A designation of 'redevelopment district' allows cities and counties to provide incentives for property owners and developers to clean up blighted parts of the community.
Redevelopment districts target once-thriving areas for new life by allowing public improvements such as roads, utility upgrades, or public spaces, in order to “redevelop” the property to something more useful. The finished project could result in new neighborhoods and new jobs created by “reusing” land that is mostly in a state of disrepair.
