Meeting Preview: Muskego Common Council Will Take Up Final Debate on Budget

2012 Budget will get last look, and financing for upcoming projects up for approval are part of full menu for common council

With public input now in, the Common Council will take a final vote on the Mayor's 2012 budget at 7pm.  About six weeks of discussion at the Committee of the Whole have featured debate over spending on Pioneer Drive and the elimination of two city building inspector positions, and it's likely last arguments could be made on these items Tuesday night.

In addition, items up for council approval include

  • $14.5 million for the issuance and sale of general obligation promissory notes
  • Appointment of Krisann Durnford to the library board
  • a grant authorization for Jill's Cleaners as part of the Janesville Road Building and Grant Program for $3,000.
  • Garbage and refuse disposal rates for 2012, which are remaining unchanged.
  • As previously reported, the public works committee had recommended engineering design services for Pioneer Drive and for the Woods Road recreational path; continued concerns over the cost of Pioneer Drive will likely mean further debate at council.
