Meeting Preview: Muskego-Norway School Board Looks At Their Options
After a second defeat at the polls, the district will meet to discuss what's next.

After voters responded with a second resounding "no" on the referendum, which would have allowed the district to spend nearly $30 million to build a new school, renovate three others and close two (Muskego Elementary and Tess Corners Elementary), the school board will meet Monday night to see what steps they can take next.
While improvements will likely be recommended, inquiries to the district indicate that the decision will fall somewhere between Gary Rosplach, who is the supervisor of building and grounds and what the board will approve.
The board will also revisit a debate on what steps they should take with their alternative benefit program, which allows employees to opt out of their insurance benefits in exchange for a stipend.

The question centers around what will give the district the most savings. Presently, 113 employees use the option, saving the district about $12,200 per person. With the new insurance plans costing less, the stipends could also decrease; this could save the district as much as $170,000, but could also mean employees will opt back into the health insurance coverage, negating any savings.
The board meets at the at 7:30 pm.
