Meeting Preview: Plan Commission Attempts to Finish Business with New Kohl's Design

A lengthy agenda features many annual reviews, return of seasonal businesses and the proposed Kohl's facade redesign.

The Muskego Plan Commission will meet Tuesday night to catch up on old business that had to be put on hold, as January's meeting was canceled when there weren't enough commissioners on hand.

The commission meets at 6 p.m. in the Muskego Room on the lower level of and will include the following issues:

  • has requested a "refresh" of the entrances, and was asked to redesign it in December as the look did not fit into the area's design plan, which dictates a prairie style motif.
  • Requests for the sale of fireworks at the Jetz Fuel and Piggly Wiggly properties by American Fireworks, as well as a site in front of the Pick n Save by Black Bull Fireworks
  • Stein's "Just Plants" will again make a return in front of Kohl's if the commission approves their request to sell from the temporary greenhouse. The business will operate from April to July.
  • Annual reviews include permits for Just Paws kennels, a bed and breakfast on Muskego Dam Drive and Durham Hill Auto
  • Janesville Commons' owners are requesting a change to what the city will allow for signage in front of the property located at Janesville Road and Parkland Drive.
Corporate logos on the front of their stores is currently not allowed, which owners are hoping to change. Sprint, and lease space there among others.
