Muskego Citizens Group Asks for Your Yes Vote On November 8

School's time is now says grassroots organization.

Dear Muskego Community,

We have another chance and the time is now!  The School Board and District Administration have done an amazing job of responding to our community by reducing and revising the plan to fix our detrimental elementary school situation.

The School Board has approved a new facilities plan that will come forth for a vote on Tuesday, November 8th. The cost is less than the previous referendum last year, but still addresses many of the issues facing our aging facilities and the high long-term costs taxpayers will be faced with if we don’t fix the buildings now.

Last year’s vote shows that there are already thousands of us in support of this referendum, but fixing our aging elementary schools will benefit each and every citizen in our community.  Families move to communities where schools can deliver the best education possible, which keeps all of our property values strong.

While our high school students have been improving their ACT scores over the past several years, we need our ACT scores to go even higher in order to compete with other schools in the region.  To do this we must address our inadequate, overcrowded and crumbling elementary schools because quality education doesn’t just start at the high school level.

The first five years that students spend in elementary school are a critical phase in building a solid foundation for the future.  We owe our children the best start and we owe our community the best schools so we can protect our property values by keeping future costs from spiraling out of control and by keeping Muskego an attractive place for families to live, work, and learn.

I am the President of a grassroots organization called Friends of Muskego Norway Schools.  We are a dedicated group of citizens who believe in the long-term value and cost-savings of passing this referendum now.  If you are a supporter and would like to share your support please join our movement.  If you would like to learn more, please contact me at FriendsofMNS@gmail.com or join our group on Facebook, Friends of Muskego Norway School District.

Strong Schools – Strong City

Sincerely,

Terri Boyer
